Plucking the Night Orchard

This took a while. I've been working on the painting, between dayjob assignments and (not)having a social life, since the beginning of September. Finished the WCing two weeks ago, and I found a WONDERFUL local place to do large format scans and prints, too. In case I ever need prints at 24x36 inches.

It was going to be a simply one-off image for a portfolio addition, but it's spiraled into a whole set of images, the next sketch of which is in my scraps.

So, glowfruit, trees, kids, dragons, and a really tough lighting arrangement on the second-largest watercolor I've ever attempted. More to come!

(To clarify, this was not 36x24 in. It's roughly 20x13 in.)
